March extra blog

One of the most important things about kindergarten is the classroom and the kind of vibe it gives off as soon as you walk throught the door. As soon as you walk in a kindergarten classroom, you should see many bright colors all around the room and plenty room for the children to sit and work or play. Something that is very important is the children's work up on the walls. If it's worksheets or paintings, the work should be displayed on the walls. It adds character to the room and it gives the children a reason to always do their best and neatest. It also makes the children feel comfortable in the classroom because it makes it feel like their own when they see their work all around. Classroom environment is always important.

Blog 17: Answer 3

What is the most effective way a kindergarten teacher can ensure a successful school year?

One way a kindergarten teacher can ensure a successful school year is by the classroom environment.

Having a lot of bright colors is always visually pleasing and it's what you expect in a kindergarten class. Also it's very fun and gets the students excited and entertained in what is going on. Having their work up displayed on the walls is also important because it makes the classroom feel like their own and they can feel a part of something. It also encourages them to do a good and neat job because they know that everyone will be able to see it.

I was considering this answer when I was doing some research but the source that really helped me in getting the full answer was the interview with a kindergarten teacher I sometimes work with, Mrs. Hanson.

As students get older, the classroom get more and more plain to the point where the walls are just blank. The best part of kindergarten was the colorful walls and the fun feel environment.
